Reflections on Coaching, 16-years in

Thursday, July 22nd, 2021

It doesn’t matter how many coaching tools you know.

I want to know if you’ve fallen apart and put yourself back together.

I want to know if you know

How to sit with a client

In places they can barely breathe,

Where fear, longing, and magnificence threaten to shatter

Old identities

too small to live in

wholly, and holy.

In that place

One question can change the course of a life.

One revelation reorient a business and

Reveal new paths for our whole earth community.

In that place

With compassion your headlamp through the tunnels of change

Tools fall away,

Revealed for what they always were,

And even the label of “coach” is unnecessary.

All that is left is life meeting life.

Magnificent

with possibility.
